Your America 2016: Empowering Minority Voters
Knowing that 2016 would be a crucial year for Hispanic Americans to engage in the U.S. political system, Univision tasked RSR with creating a campaign to help mobilize their viewers in advance of the presidential election.
Your America is a voter registration platform that provided the information and tools necessary for eligible voters to make their voices count. Determined to get all 27 million Hispanic Americans involved and informed, we implemented resources like the voting FAQ, polling location finders, bilingual text message reminders, sample ballots, candidate info, as well as downloadable social assets designed to start conversations on important issues and encourage the users’ family and friends to register to vote.
As the primary designer on the Univision account, I worked closely with the team from ideation to design. This was a particularly rewarding project for me. Not only did the campaign resulted in over 100,000 newly registered voters and was featured on The New York Times and The Atlantic, the project also showed me how much positive impact a small team of designers and marketers can make.
